Tips for refreshing older containers? Do I have to take out everything? My big pots are several years old.
ReplyDeleteGood question, Sherri. You should change out all the soil each spring as it gets very depleted of nutrients, but as I know that is a lot of work - I generally advise to take out the top 1/3 of the soil when re-potting -- unless there was a disease or pest issue, of course, in which you need to discard that used soil and scrub the container down with a weak bleach solution.
