After flowering last year, I cut it back to 6", and moved it to my garage(no freezing) near a window. I did nothing special, just water and fertilizer a couple of times. Lo and behold it decided to bloom this year. After the blooms are finished this year, I'll do the same as last year, but it will get better care next year. I figure if it's that determined to bloom, it deserves better care.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16905485.post-46521441749152236732012-12-06T05:37:07.975-05:002012-12-06T05:37:07.975-05:00How about the french name Rose de Noël? I almost went for the supermarket poinsettia's but decided at the last minute not to buy them and will get a few at a proper garden centre. They will be my only Christmas decoration this year.Lailahttp://www.sowandso.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16905485.post-82226569927219402662012-12-05T13:58:35.755-05:002012-12-05T13:58:35.755-05:00I also appreciated the watering information, Kathy...I also appreciated the watering information, Kathy. The dutch name for poinsettia is translated in English: Christmas Star. I really like the red ones, I have seen white, pink but the red ones always give that extra christmas spirit we need.
